Tema Region Engages Customers at Community One Market as Part of Customer Service Month 2026
As part of activities marking Customer Service Month 2026, the Tema Region of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) held a customer sensitisation and engagement exercise at the Community One Market on 29th October 2026 to interact with members of the general public and address their concerns.
The programme provided an opportunity for members of the public to visit a stand mounted by ECG, where they engaged officials on various electricity-related issues. Key concerns raised included procedures for acquiring new or separate meters, challenges with loading credit onto meters, and meters that continued to blink despite having sufficient credit.
Some customers expressed their appreciation for the initiative, indicating their delight at seeing ECG officials bring the engagement directly to the marketplace.
The Tema Regional General Manager was represented by the Revenue Protection Manager, Madam Zita Kyei-Gyamfi, who explained that the initiative was aimed at appreciating customers and strengthening the relationship between ECG and the public. She reiterated that “ECG is committed to providing safe, reliable and quality electricity supply to our cherished customers.”
Madam Kyei-Gyamfi also cautioned the public against illegal electricity connections, explaining that such practices negatively affect electricity distribution by placing excessive pressure on transformers. She urged those involved in the practice to desist from it, warning that offenders would be prosecuted.
The programme was also supported by a team from the Communications Directorate at Head Office, led by the Manager for Services Marketing, Madam Patricia Brefo, who joined the Tema Regional Communications Unit to engage with customers and members of the public.
