She has built a house while Sarpong is still renting with his grammar – Kwabena Bobie Ansah fires

Media personality and broadcast journalist Kwabena Bobie Ansah has launched a strong criticism of New Patriotic Party (NPP) commentator P.K. Sarpong, drawing attention to what he considers inequalities in the party’s reward system. He questioned why some loyal party communicators continue to struggle financially while others who secure government appointments enjoy substantial benefits.

Bobie Ansah highlighted the contrast between grassroots activists who spend years defending the party without receiving significant rewards and political figures who obtain lucrative public appointments and ex-gratia payments. Comparing Sarpong with former presidential staffer Clara Napaga Tia Sulemana, popularly known as Boyaa, he suggested that some individuals have benefited financially from their positions while long-serving party supporters remain without similar opportunities.

Referring to Sarpong’s online comments about delegations attending the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Bobie Ansah wrote:

“Just look at my brother krakye Nii PK Sarpong staying on the touchline for 8yrs while Boyaa was a presidential staffer and taking ex-gratia. She has built a house oooo while pk is still renting with his grammar. They get angry when I tell them an average npp person is mad. UN Assembly yi PK never went there oooo, yet he’s asking why Bobie is not there.”

Bobie Ansah’s remarks reflect broader concerns about the treatment of party communicators, social media commentators and grassroots activists in Ghanaian politics. These individuals often defend their parties publicly and participate in political debates, yet some believe they receive fewer material benefits than those who secure positions within government.

His comparison between Sarpong and Boyaa was intended to illustrate what he sees as an imbalance between years of political loyalty and the rewards associated with government appointments. By referring to Sarpong’s use of sophisticated English and his alleged lack of opportunities to travel with official delegations, Bobie Ansah questioned whether defending the party’s political interests necessarily translates into personal advancement.

Ultimately, Bobie Ansah’s criticism raises questions about how political parties recognise and reward their loyal supporters. His comments challenge NPP communicators to consider whether their commitment to defending the party’s positions is matched by meaningful support from its leadership, or whether the greatest benefits of political power are enjoyed mainly by those who secure influential appointments.
