Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in contact with Josh Acheampong’s representative over his potential signing in January

Los Blancos and Die Roten are reportedly leading the race to sign the promising defender of Ghanaian descent from the English titan in the forthcoming winter window

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have made contact with the agent of London-born Ghanaian defender Josh Acheampong in a bid to secure his signature from Premier League giants Chelsea, a report in the German media has claimed.

The 20-year-old Chelsea academy graduate continues to attract serious attention from a host of potential suitors across Europe, with Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester Utd, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Liverpool – all gunning for his services ahead of the January transfer window.

Per news outlet Fussball News, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium outfit and the Allianz Arena campaigners have already made contact with the representative of the most sought-after centre-half to explore the possibility of landing him in January.

lt’s understood that, Chelsea are frantically working around the clock to secure the future of their prized asset to a long-term contract over an extension as they are aware of the admiring glances from suitors over his pursuit across Europe this season.

The report adds that the West London side have slapped a price tag of €50 million on their budding star, but such fee would not be a worry to the Spanish heavyweights as they have the financial wherewithal to prise him away from his mother club given their determination to beef up their backline options with his signing this January.

Acheampong, whose current deal with the Blues expires on June 30, 2029, has so far taken in 11 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea in this ongoing campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the budding star remains eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage at the senior level despite playing for the England national youth teams.
