Pauline Sarcastically Reacts to Convoy of ODM Leader Heading to Jacaranda, Accuses Them of Copy Pasting

Political temperatures continue to rise within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following a sarcastic reaction by Linda Mwananchi communications strategist Pauline Njoroge over a convoy of party leaders heading to Jacaranda Grounds in Nairobi.

The ODM leaders are expected to preside over a major political gathering at Jacaranda on Saturday, October 31, 2026, as part of activities honouring the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who died on October 15, 2025.

However, the decision to hold the gathering at Jacaranda has attracted considerable political attention, especially because the same venue previously hosted a major Linda Mwananchi rally led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Siaya Governor James Orengo.

Reacting to images and videos showing ODM leaders travelling in a convoy towards the venue, Pauline appeared to mock their mobilisation strategy, suggesting that they were copying what Linda Mwananchi had previously demonstrated.

Her remarks have since added fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding the political rivalry between supporters of the ODM mainstream faction and those aligned with Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Movement.

The development comes at a particularly sensitive moment for ODM, which is facing questions about its internal unity, leadership direction and political relationship with President William Ruto’s administration.

For the Linda Mwananchi faction, Sifuna and his allies have continued presenting themselves as champions of political change, with their activities attracting considerable attention among opposition supporters.

Meanwhile, ODM leaders have maintained that their Jacaranda gathering is important in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and celebrating Raila’s political legacy.

The rally is also expected to provide an opportunity for party leaders to communicate their political position as the country gradually approaches the 2027 General Election.

Pauline’s sarcastic response has therefore revived discussions about the competition for influence within the ODM political family.

As both camps continue advancing their respective political strategies, the Jacaranda gathering could provide another indication of the growing differences over the future direction of the Orange party.
