Makau Mutua Names The Politician Who Allegedly Plotted Kalonzo To Be Heckled, Says He Has Messages

Former President William Ruto’s adviser Makau Mutua has accused Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna of organising the heckling of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka during the launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

In a statement shared on his official X account on Saturday, October 31, Mutua claimed he possessed voice and text messages supporting his allegations against Sifuna. He described the incident as primitive and questioned the circumstances surrounding the disruption.

Kalonzo was heckled on Friday after questioning remarks by DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, who appeared to declare Sifuna the opposition’s presidential candidate.

The Wiper leader insisted that the selection of a joint opposition flagbearer should follow an agreed process. Sifuna intervened, asking supporters to respect Kalonzo and allow him to address the gathering.

Mutua’s accusations have added to growing tensions within the opposition as leaders seek to agree on a joint presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
