Kwesi Pratt Breaks Silence On Alleged Israeli Operation In Ghana Involving Two Private Jets

Veteran Ghanaian journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has brought renewed attention to a disturbing allegation about an alleged Israeli security operation on Ghanaian soil, raising serious questions about the country’s national security and the protection of its sovereignty.

In a report published by GhanaWeb on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Pratt recounted an alleged incident involving two private jets and the reported kidnapping of a businessman who was travelling to Ghana.

According to an account attributed to Pratt, the businessman was allegedly picked up by Israeli security operatives a few kilometres from Kotoka International Airport. He was reportedly taken to a private residence in Accra, where Pratt claimed he was held and tortured before being taken out of the country.

The veteran journalist’s account has drawn attention to an issue that goes beyond the alleged kidnapping itself. It raises questions about whether foreign security operatives could carry out such an operation within Ghana without the knowledge or approval of the country’s security agencies.

Pratt has previously spoken about the alleged incident, describing it as an example of the kind of security conduct Ghana should not encourage. In a report published in June 2021, he questioned whether the country should look to Israel’s security system as a model.

The claims are serious, especially because Ghana is an independent country with its own security institutions and laws. Any alleged operation by foreign security personnel within its borders would require proper investigation to establish exactly what happened and whether any laws were broken.

However, it is important to separate allegations from established facts. The account attributed to Pratt does not, by itself, prove that Israeli agents carried out the operation. Independent confirmation, official records and statements from the relevant security agencies would be needed to establish the full circumstances.

The matter also brings up an important question about the responsibility of Ghana’s security authorities. If such an incident occurred as described, citizens would reasonably expect an explanation of how it happened and what steps were taken.
