‘He gave me the ball’ – Leao reveals Osimhen’s touching gesture in Galatasaray’s 4-0 win v Konyaspor
According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday October 31, 2026, Galatasaray forward Rafael Leao has praised Victor Osimhen for his unselfish gesture during their 4-0 victory over Konyaspor, revealing that the Nigerian striker allowed him to take a penalty.
Osimhen opened the scoring for the Turkish champions before giving up the opportunity to complete his brace by allowing Leao to take a second-half spot kick.
Leao, who joined Galatasaray from AC Milan in the summer, had been struggling to find his scoring touch but converted the penalty to register his first goal for the club.
Speaking after the match, the Portuguese international expressed his appreciation to Osimhen, saying the Super Eagles striker understood how much he wanted to score.
“I really appreciate that moment. He knew I’ve been working a lot and searching for my first goal,” Leao told Galatasaray’s YouTube channel.
He added: “He could have scored the second goal, but he gave me the ball. It’s about the kind of attitude we have, so we have a great group.”
Osimhen has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign, recording 10 goals and three assists in 10 appearances across all competitions.
The Nigerian striker will now be hoping to maintain his goalscoring form as Galatasaray continue their pursuit of domestic and continental honours.
