Good News as Arsenal Could Play Manchester United in Nairobi, Cabinet Secretary Announces When
Manchester United and Arsenal could meet in a high-profile football match at the Raila Odinga International Stadium in Nairobi around June or July 2027, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced.
Speaking on Friday, October 30, while addressing residents of Makutano in Marakwet West, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Murkomen said the proposed fixture would follow the January 5, 2027, clash between German giants Bayern Munich and Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.
The CS said the planned Manchester United-Arsenal encounter would be among several international sporting events expected to be hosted at the 60,000-seater facility in Talanta Sports City.
Murkomen praised President William Ruto’s administration for investing in sports infrastructure and creating opportunities for young people.
He also noted that the stadium would play a significant role in Kenya’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which the country will co-host with Tanzania and Uganda from June 19 to July 17. The proposed Premier League giants’ clash has yet to be officially confirmed by the clubs.
