Frida, My Wife Knows That I Don’t Have a Second Wife: Babu Owino Breaks Silence on Mosiria’s Claims

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has finally addressed claims that he secretly has a second wife and another child, delivering a bold response to former Nairobi Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria.

Babu has dismissed the allegations, insisting that his wife, Frida Muthoni Ongili, knows him well and is not worried about the rumours surrounding his private life.

Speaking during an interview, the outspoken legislator appeared unfazed by the claims that have been making rounds online, making it clear that Frida remains the woman he recognises as his wife.

The Embakasi East MP also revealed that he was raised by a single mother after losing his father while he was in Class Three.

According to Babu, growing up in a female-headed household gave him a firsthand understanding of the challenges single mothers face while struggling to provide basic needs for their children.

He recalled the sacrifices involved in ensuring children have food, clothing and other necessities, saying the experience shaped his outlook on parenthood.

Babu also used the interview to address questions surrounding fatherhood, making a strong declaration about his responsibility towards his children.

His remarks appeared to underline his belief that every child deserves care, support and parental responsibility.

The controversy erupted after former Nairobi Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria made claims about Babu’s alleged secret family, triggering public debate about the legislator’s personal life.

However, Babu’s latest response has shifted attention back to the two men, with the MP openly challenging Mosiria to produce evidence of the alleged second wife.

For now, Babu has stood firmly by his marriage to Frida Muthoni Ongili and dismissed the claims as rumours.
