DCP, Wiper, Linda Mwananchi & Others Left Aside As Kenyans Told The Biggest Party in Kenya
Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has emphasized that his younger brother, Raila Odinga, joined the political arena driven by a deep personal commitment to combat oppression rather than relying on their family lineage.
In a statement shared on social media, the seasoned legislator asserted that his party stands as the largest political outfit in the country noting that it took considerable time and effort to build its current status.
Oburu clarified that Raila did not enter politics merely because he is the son of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
He explained that if familial succession had been the primary factor, he himself would have assumed leadership as the firstborn son. Instead, he noted that Raila stepped forward at the opportune moment to champion the fight for justice and freedom.
The remarks reveals the enduring political influence of the Odinga family while highlighting Raila’s independent journey in the political landscape.
Oburu’s comments appear to reinforce the narrative that the opposition leader’s role in the struggle for democracy is rooted in individual resolve and dedication to the cause, rather than inherited privilege.
