Confusion Rocks NPP Over Deputy Communicator Positions
According to a report by KessbenTV, on Saturday October 31, 2026, Gordon Asare Bediako has clarified the structure of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, dismissing suggestions that the party has created separate positions for First Deputy and Second Deputy Communications Directors.
According to him, the appointments within the party’s communications department should not be interpreted as a hierarchy involving first and second deputy communicators, as the individuals involved have been assigned different roles and responsibilities to support the party’s communication activities.
Speaking on the matter, Bediako explained that the NPP does not operate with specific positions such as First Deputy Communications Director or Second Deputy Communications Director within the arrangement being discussed.
Rather, the various appointments are intended to distribute responsibilities among members of the communications team to improve coordination and the effective delivery of the party’s messages.
He stressed that the individuals have distinct duties and should be recognised based on the responsibilities assigned to them rather than being ranked according to seniority or importance.
Bediako further disclosed that his responsibility within the communications structure is to train party communicators.
His role, he explained, focuses on equipping communicators with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively represent the party and communicate its policies, positions and political messages to the Ghanaian public.
The clarification comes amid discussions surrounding the NPP’s communications appointments and the responsibilities assigned to various individuals within the party’s communication machinery.
His explanation is expected to provide a clearer understanding of how the party intends to organise its communications team and avoid possible misunderstandings over the titles and functions attached to the different appointments.
Bediako’s comments also highlight the importance of specialised responsibilities, particularly training, in strengthening the party’s communication strategy as it continues to engage the public on national political issues.
