Bobby Motaung shares positive message about Kaizer Chiefs’ youngsters and technical team

BOBBY MOTAUNG BREAKS SILENCE ON KAIZER CHIEFS’ IMPROVEMENT AS HE BACKS YOUNGSTERS AND TECHNICAL TEAM

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA — 31 OCTOBER 2026

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has shared an encouraging assessment of the club’s recent progress, highlighting the importance of building confidence among young players while expressing his belief in the technical team’s ability to guide the team in the right direction.

Motaung believes that the challenges experienced in recent matches have provided valuable lessons for Amakhosi, with the club now beginning to show signs of improvement following a change in results.

The Soweto giants have endured periods of inconsistency, attracting criticism from supporters who have been demanding more convincing performances. However, the club’s leadership believes that patience, confidence and continued development will be important as the team works towards restoring its competitive standards.

Speaking about the team’s progress, Motaung emphasised the need to give younger players encouragement and create an environment in which they can develop without losing confidence.

“I think confidence must be built in terms of what we give to these youngsters and hope. And I think we’ve got a good technical staff, a professional technical staff,” Motaung said.

His comments underline the importance of trusting the club’s younger generation rather than placing unnecessary pressure on them during difficult periods.

Chiefs have invested considerable attention in developing young talent, with several emerging players being given opportunities to establish themselves in the first team. The club’s long-term ambitions will depend partly on how effectively these players translate their potential into consistent performances.
