Bayern Munich vs Ajax Tickets for Raila Odinga Stadium Opening Go on Sale November 5
Kenyan fans who want a seat when Bayern Munich and Ajax open the new national stadium in Nairobi have a date to mark. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 5, through the official Talanta Sports City website, according to FC Bayern.

The match is set for Tuesday, January 5, 2027, at the Raila Odinga International Stadium, the new name for the facility built as Talanta Stadium in Nairobi. President William Ruto confirmed the fixture on Wednesday, October 28.
The German club said sales open on talantasportscity.com. Neither Bayern nor the government has published ticket prices yet, so fans should wait for the official portal rather than paying anyone selling “early access” on WhatsApp or social media.
That warning matters, because a first-ever visit by two of Europe’s best-known clubs is exactly the kind of match that draws fake sellers.
The ground holds about 60,000 people. It is built only for football and rugby, with no running track, which puts the stands closer to the pitch than at Kasarani or Nyayo.
Pulse Kenya reports it will have 52 hospitality skyboxes, a hybrid grass pitch, 8 entrances and provisions for VAR and goal-line technology.

The contract is worth about Ksh45.85 billion, up from an early estimate of Ksh35 billion. The Ministry of Sports put the rise down to taxes, freight and clearing charges.
Construction started with a groundbreaking on March 1, 2024. China Road and Bridge Corporation is the contractor, working with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Engineering Department, and the government has said the stadium would be handed over by December 31, 2026.
Rouven Kasper, Bayern’s board member for marketing and sales, said the club has millions of fans in Africa and wants to grow that connection. Ruto linked the choice of a German club to Raila Odinga’s student years in Germany, saying Bayern would play in the house that bears his name.
“Come 5th January 2027, we will open this stadium with a historic match between two giants of European football,” Ruto said.
The opening is meant to build up to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Kenya will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania. It is the first AFCON shared by three countries.

The game will also be broadcast live in Germany on ProSieben and streamed on FC Bayern TV PLUS.
