Acting is competitive, if you have nothing more to offer you might not last β€”- Victoria Adeboye

According to an interview on Oyinmomo TV on Friday October 30, 2026, Nollywood actress, Victoria Ajiboye disclosed the struggle behind being a Nollywood star. She noted that acting is not a simple profession; it is quite competitive.

In her words, β€œActing is not a simple profession and not quite easy. It is highly competitive. Many actors are aiming for the same thing. Everyone wants to be a star, famous, rich and be a dominant figure in the industry.

Ajiboye advised young actors to ensure they are financially stable or have the means of survival because there are no monetary benefits at the early stage. Moreover, someone from a poor background might really struggle to sustain his or herself in the industry.

She said, β€œSomeone from a poor background might not find it easy because you don’t make money as soon as you join the industry. But for me, I was able to earn because I started out as a script writer. If you don’t have anything else to offer apart from acting, it would be quite difficult for you to rise.

β€œThat’s why many young actors leave in no time because they think it’s easy. Movies are quite interesting to watch but the process of making them is not easy at all.”
