VIDEO: What Kalonzo Said Before Sifuna’s Supporters Heckled Him at a Nairobi Event Today

The incident happened when Kalonzo questioned Sifuna’s status as a presidential candidate, triggering loud chants and boos from sections of the audience.Kalonzo was among several opposition leaders who attended the event, which brought together politicians from different parties.

Tension erupted after Wamalwa referred to Sifuna as a presidential candidate while addressing the gathering.

However, Kalonzo appeared to disagree with the description and explained that the Nairobi senator still had to follow the party’s nomination process. He told the audience that Sifuna would only qualify to be recognised as a presidential aspirant after the party’s National Delegates Conference scheduled for November 13.

Kalonzo further explained that the meeting would provide an opportunity for opposition leaders to engage with Sifuna as a fellow presidential candidate if he secured the necessary approval.

His remarks did not go down well with some supporters, who immediately began chanting Sifuna’s name while booing the Wiper leader.

The situation quickly became uncomfortable as Kalonzo struggled to continue his address amid the interruptions.

At one point, the former vice president stopped speaking and asked the crowd whether they wanted him to continue or leave the stage. The growing tension forced Sifuna to intervene.

He appealed to his supporters to remain calm and allow the visiting opposition leader to complete his speech.

Despite the intervention, Kalonzo eventually left the podium before returning later after Gachagua had addressed the gathering.

Upon his return, the Wiper leader used the opportunity to introduce members of his political team who had accompanied him to the event.
