Threats from TLW and Odo Broni have killed my passion for promoting Lumba’s music – DJ KA

Ghanaian radio presenter and disc jockey DJ KA has disclosed that attacks and threats from supporters of Daddy Lumba, especially Team Legal Wives (TLW), have made him lose interest in promoting the late Highlife legend’s music.

DJ KA, known for his passion for Lumba’s discography and his detailed on-air breakdowns of the musician’s lyrics, said he became caught up in the feud between the camps of Akosua Serwaa and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni.

According to him, supporters of the two women began attacking him whenever he performed songs they believed were dedicated to one of the widows.

He explained that when he sang songs believed to have been written for Akosua Serwaa, supporters of Odo Broni’s camp threatened and insulted him. He faced the same treatment when he performed songs associated with Odo Broni.

“When I sing songs Daddy Lumba dedicated to Akosua Serwaa, people from Odo Broni’s camp come after me. And when I switch to songs believed to have been written for Odo Broni, those supporting Akosua Serwaa also insult me,” he told MC Portfolio on Angel FM.

DJ KA said the situation became frustrating because he simply wanted to celebrate Daddy Lumba’s music and help listeners understand the messages behind his lyrics, not take sides in the family dispute.

He added that the hostility eventually made him reconsider promoting the musician’s catalogue.

“I have got to a point where I am tired. I only want to play the songs and explain the lyrics, but people keep dragging me into the issues between the two camps.

“I have therefore decided not to continue pushing Daddy Lumba’s legacy through the songs I reproduce,” he said.
