Online Erupts as Man Resembling Ruto Spotted at Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Headquarters Launch

A man who closely resembles President William Ruto has attracted attention online after appearing in photos shared by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna during the launch of the Linda Mwananchi Movement’s national headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi.

The man, who was wearing a hat, caught the attention of social media users because of his striking resemblance to the Head of State. Several people who viewed the photos quickly turned to the comment section to question his identity.

Some users jokingly wondered whether Ruto had also joined the political movement, while others could not believe how much the unidentified man looked like the President.

“Kwani Ruto pia ni member,” one social media user commented.

Another person questioned whether the man was actually someone else, saying, “Uyo sio Uliam?”

The reactions continued as more users noticed the resemblance. One person asked, “Huyo ni nani anakaa Ruto,” while another jokingly referred to him as “doktari uliam.”

The discussion came after Sifuna shared photos from Friday, October 30, 2026, when he officially opened the Linda Mwananchi Movement’s national headquarters in Lavington.

The event attracted several opposition leaders, including Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa.

Their presence highlighted the growing political engagements among opposition leaders as different formations position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

However, the unidentified man’s appearance became an unexpected talking point among people reacting to the photos.

Some users even joked about whether the President had secretly become a member of the movement, despite no indication that the man was Ruto.

Neither Sifuna nor the organisers identified the man in the shared photos.

The incident has added an amusing twist to an event that was mainly focused on establishing the movement’s national structures ahead of the next elections.
