I Expected Mahama To Appoint Me As Council Of State Member After Helping NDC Win Elections – Gaisie
According to a report by The BBC Ghana today being Friday, October 30, 2026, the Founder and Leader of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has disclosed that he expected President John Dramani Mahama to appoint him to a government position following the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s victory in the 2024 general elections.
According to the man of God, he had hoped to be considered for either membership of the Council of State or the position of Minister for Religious Affairs after the NDC returned to power.
He explained that he believed his contributions towards the party’s electoral success could earn him an appointment in the Mahama-led administration.
Prophet Nigel Gaisie made the revelation during an interview on Neat FM, where he spoke about his expectations following the outcome of the 2024 elections. His comments have since attracted attention, particularly because of the relationship between religious leaders and political activities in Ghana.
The prophet’s statement has also generated conversations about whether individuals who publicly support political parties during election campaigns should expect government appointments when those parties eventually assume office.
His remarks have brought renewed attention to the role some religious figures play in Ghana’s political landscape and the expectations that may arise from their involvement in partisan activities.
Meanwhile, the disclosure has raised questions about the nature of political support and whether contributions made during election campaigns should translate into appointments or other forms of recognition under an incoming government.
Although Prophet Nigel Gaisie has spoken about the positions he hoped to occupy, his comments have become a subject of public discussion, especially among Ghanaians interested in the relationship between religion, politics and governance.
