Ghanaian Man Demands GH¢150,000 From Ex-Girlfriend After DNA Test Reveals Child Is Not His

A young Ghanaian man identified as Sly has approached a local media outlet to demand compensation from his former girlfriend after a DNA test established that the child he had been raising was not biologically his.

Sly appeared on Lawson TV, a relationship programme that discusses issues surrounding marriages and personal relationships, alongside his ex-girlfriend, identified as Esther. During the discussion, he demanded GH¢150,000 in compensation.

Footage from the programme, which lasted less than two minutes, showed Sly giving Esther and the child’s biological father an ultimatum to refund the amount.

He maintained that the money represented his expenditure on the child, as well as the financial support he provided to Esther during her pregnancy and childbirth.

Sly indicated that he had accepted the DNA test results but wanted the biological father and his family to reimburse him for the expenses he incurred while raising the child.

He also stated that he would not pursue the matter beyond the media programme if the requested amount was paid.

“Apart from this place, I am not taking this case anywhere. The DNA result is out, and it says this kid is not mine, which I understand.

“Let the man responsible for the kid know that I spent GH¢150,000; therefore, your family and the man should give me the money, and I won’t bother you again,” he said.
