Family announces one-week observation for Kwame Dzokoto

The family of veteran Ghanaian actor, broadcaster and politician Seth Kwame Dzokoto has announced plans for his one-week observation following his death on October 22, 2026.

The traditional memorial observance is scheduled to take place on Friday November 20, a month after his unfortunate demise.

The event will be held at the Roman Catholic School Park, near St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tarkwa, in the Western Region.

Dzokoto, who was 51, reportedly suffered a medical emergency while participating in a live morning radio discussion at Owass FM in Tarkwa. His death came as a shock to colleagues, fans and members of Ghana’s entertainment and political communities.

He was widely known for playing Judge Koboo in the long-running television series Efiewura, where his distinctive delivery and comic performances earned him recognition among Ghanaian audiences.

Beyond acting, Dzokoto built a career in broadcasting and became familiar to television viewers as the host of TV3’s food programme Edziban, which celebrated Ghanaian cuisine and food culture.

His career also extended into politics, making him a public figure whose work spanned entertainment, media and public service.

News of his death triggered tributes from colleagues and admirers, many of whom remembered him for his contribution to Ghanaian entertainment and broadcasting.

The one-week observation will provide an opportunity for family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers to gather in Tarkwa to mourn his passing and pay tribute to his life and work.
