Ignoring the notice leads to immediate suspension. Here is how to check your status via WhatsApp before the revised payments begin.

SASSA has issued an urgent warning to beneficiaries whose grants are under review.

Failure to respond to a review notice will result in the suspension of payments.

This warning applies to the revised November 2026 payment schedule. Beneficiaries must check the latest SASSA grant payment dates for their specific category.

Payments for older persons start on Friday, October 30, 2026.

Disability grants are paid on Monday, November 2. Children’s grants follow on Tuesday, November 3.

SASSA has set aside Thursday, November 5, 2026, for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process.

Beneficiaries must respond to official communication and attend review appointments when requested.

Failure to comply may result in a suspension.

The agency states reviews safeguard the integrity of the social assistance system. They ensure that grants are paid to qualifying individuals.

Do not rush to SASSA offices unnecessarily. Payments will be processed according to the announced schedule.

Beneficiaries can proactively check their status digitally. Save the official SASSA WhatsApp number 082 601 0111.

Send a message saying “Hi” and follow the prompts. This service allows beneficiaries to check if a grant is under review.

It also provides access to eLife Certification and grant applications. There are five official ways to check your SASSA status without visiting an office.

A major reason beneficiaries miss review notices is outdated contact information.

SASSA requires beneficiaries to update their personal circumstances.

This includes marital status, financial circumstances, residential address, and cellphone numbers.

Changing a cellphone number without updating SASSA risks missing critical review notices. This can lead to an unexpected suspension.

SASSA maintains that social grants are provided to eligible individuals only.

Beneficiaries must take an active role in maintaining their records.

For regional office contact details, use the SASSA Services Portal. General self-service enquiries are available on the main portal.

Alternatively, use the SASSA toll-free call centre: 0800 60 10 11.
