Osimhen closes in on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign goalscoring record

The Nigerian international has scored 68 goals for the Istanbul-based club, placing him third on its all-time goalscoring list.

Former Argentina international Mauro Icardi currently leads the ranking with 77 goals, while Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi occupies second place with 72 goals.

Osimhen is now four goals away from equalling Hagi’s tally and 10 goals short of matching Icardi’s record.

The 27-year-old strengthened his pursuit of the milestone with a brace in Galatasaray’s 2-1 derby victory over Fenerbahçe on Monday night.

The goals further highlighted his importance to Okan Buruk’s side as he continues to make his mark in Turkish football.

Osimhen maintains impressive scoring form

The former Napoli striker has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, recording nine goals and three assists in nine appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
