MK Party Member Announced Her Immediate Exit After Duduzane Zuma’s Remarks On Foreigners

Mabongi Mthembu has announced her departure from the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) and confirmed that she has joined ActionSA, citing concerns about illegal immigration, unemployment, crime and the future of South Africa.

Mthembu’s decision follows recent remarks by Duduzane Zuma, the son of former president and MK Party leader Jacob Zuma, about illegal immigration. According to Mthembu, the remarks prompted her to reconsider her political affiliation and question whether the party continued to represent her values and expectations.

In a statement shared on her Facebook page on Sunday, Mthembu explained that her decision followed careful consideration of the challenges facing ordinary South Africans. She emphasised the importance of supporting a political organisation that takes citizens’ concerns seriously.

“As a South African, I want a party that takes seriously the concerns that people are raising about illegal immigration, jobs, crime and the future of our country,” she said.

Although leaving the MK Party was not an easy decision, Mthembu apologised to supporters while making it clear that she had chosen a different political path.

“With a heavy heart, I apologise to MKP supporters, but I have decided that MKP is no longer my political choice,” she stated.

Mthembu confirmed that she had officially joined ActionSA, the party led by Herman Mashaba, which has consistently highlighted immigration enforcement and border management as key political priorities.

She maintained that her decision was motivated by her desire to support a party whose policies align with her expectations for the country.

“My loyalty is to South Africa and its people,” she added.

Her announcement has renewed attention on the debate surrounding immigration, employment opportunities, crime and national security, issues that remain prominent in South African politics.

However, her departure does not necessarily indicate that other MK Party members intend to follow the same path.

For now, Mthembu has made her position clear, choosing ActionSA as the political organisation she believes better represents her priorities and commitment to South Africa.
