KPLC Announces Planned Long Blackout Tomorrow: Check If You Will Be Affected
The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced a scheduled electricity interruption affecting several parts of Nairobi County on Friday, October 30. According to a notice issued by the power utility, the planned outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow technicians to conduct essential routine maintenance work across the network.
Residents and businesses situated within parts of Runda are expected to be the most affected during the eight-hour window. Specific areas listed in the maintenance notice include Ruaka Road, Bombax Close, Acacia Drive, Flame Tree, and Runda Meadows, alongside several neighboring properties.
This notice follows recent operational updates from the utility company, including security measures taken after its official customer care account on X experienced unauthorized access, as well as temporary telephone contact center maintenance aimed at improving overall system efficiency.
Kenya Power has advised affected customers to plan accordingly for the disruption and to make use of alternative digital support channels, such as the MyPower App, for further inquiries and updates.
