“I Saw ANC President Ramaphosa Going From House To House, You Must Stop Him” Hlaudi Motsoeneng Says

African Content Movement (ACM) president Hlaudi Motsoeneng has criticised ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa’s house-to-house campaigning, making a pointed remark about the president’s political activities.

Motsoeneng was quoted as saying: “I saw the ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa going house to house, just stop him.”

The statement appears to challenge Ramaphosa’s grassroots campaigning approach, which involves visiting communities and engaging directly with residents.

House-to-house campaigning is a common political strategy in South Africa, particularly during election periods, as political parties seek to connect with voters, promote their manifestos and persuade communities to support their candidates.

For the ANC, direct engagement with residents provides an opportunity to discuss service delivery, employment, crime and other issues affecting communities. However, opposition political figures frequently use campaign events to question the ruling party’s record and challenge its leadership.

Motsoeneng, who leads the African Content Movement, has also sought to establish his party’s presence in South Africa’s political landscape.

His remarks about Ramaphosa highlight the political contest surrounding the activities of party leaders as they seek to gain public support.

Ramaphosa remains a prominent figure in the ANC’s campaign activities, with community visits forming part of the party’s efforts to engage voters ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

Motsoeneng’s statement may attract attention as political parties intensify their campaigns and seek to distinguish themselves from their opponents.

However, the available quotation does not provide further context about what Motsoeneng meant by the words “just stop him” or whether he was referring specifically to Ramaphosa’s campaign strategy, political message or broader leadership.

Further context would be needed to establish the circumstances in which the statement was made and the precise meaning Motsoeneng intended to convey.
