One Boko Haram Captor Fell Sick After My Kidnap, I Prayed and He Recovered — Pastor Peter Samuel

Pastor Peter Oluwafemi Samuel has recounted his experience during three months in the custody of Boko Haram, revealing how he prayed for one of his captors after the militant fell ill.

According to a video shared by FeelRightNews on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the pastor explained that he was kidnapped while travelling to the northern part of Nigeria.

Samuel said his captors took him deep into the bush on foot until they arrived at their camp. Throughout the journey and his time in captivity, he said he continued praying and asking God to intervene in his situation.

The pastor explained that an unexpected incident occurred when one of the militants fell sick and did not appear to be recovering.

According to him, he approached the sick captor and asked whether he would allow him to pray for him. The man reportedly agreed, after which Samuel prayed for him and said he recovered.

The pastor recounted that the incident changed how the militants treated him. He said they began showing him care and offering him food following the reported recovery of their colleague.

However, Samuel maintained that receiving food and being treated better were not what he wanted most during his captivity. He said his priority was to regain his freedom and return to his normal life.

Recounting the experience, he said: “I was kidnapped by Boko Haram and spent three months with them. They took me while I was traveling to the North. We trekked deep into the bush until we reached their camp, and all the while I prayed that God would show His mighty hand.

“Then something unexpected happened, one of them fell sick and wasn’t getting better. I asked him, ‘Should I pray for you?’ He said yes. So I prayed for him, and he recovered.

“After that, they began to take care of me and gave me food. But I told them, ‘I don’t need your food, what I need is for you to release me.’”
