Nana Aba Anamoah Opens Up About Motherhood And Her Decision To Have One Child
Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has made a candid admission about motherhood, saying she sometimes wonders whether she would have chosen to have a child if she had known then what she knows today.
Speaking on Star FM’s Morning Starr breakfast show, which she co-hosts, Nana Aba explained that she is comfortable raising one child because she wants to provide her son with the best of everything while also enjoying the lifestyle she has worked hard to achieve.
“I always wanted one child. And this may sound controversial, but I keep saying that if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t have even had a child,” she said.
Her remarks offer a personal reflection on the demands and responsibilities that come with raising a child. Although she acknowledged that she could have had more children, the broadcaster made it clear that she has no desire to expand her family.
For Nana Aba, having one child allows her to concentrate her resources on giving her son the opportunities and comfort she believes he deserves. She reiterated that her decision is rooted in her desire to provide the best for him while maintaining the life she wants for herself.
“I’m okay with one because I want to give that child the best of everything,” she stated.
The broadcaster also spoke about reaching a stage where she can focus more on her personal enjoyment after years of meeting her financial responsibilities as a parent. With school fees no longer part of her immediate obligations, she says she is ready to enjoy the benefits of her hard work.
“So the focus is on me. I’m… I’m enjoying my money!” she added.
Nana Aba has previously discussed becoming a mother at a young age and abandoning her ambition to study medicine after discovering that she was pregnant. Those experiences have formed part of her public reflections on the choices she made earlier in life.
Her latest comments provide another glimpse into how she views motherhood, financial responsibility and personal fulfilment. While her remarks may spark different reactions, she has presented her decision to have one child as a deliberate choice that allows her to balance caring for her son with enjoying her own life.
