Leave Me Alone: Why Fired Nairobi Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria is Furious at Governor Sakaja
The bitter fallout between Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and his recently sacked Chief Officer, Geoffrey Mosiria, has escalated after Mosiria angrily confronted the county boss over a controversial administrative letter.
In a dramatic public outburst, the former Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service told Sakaja to leave him alone, questioning the logic behind a letter that officially cancelled his account rights to a county payment system.
Mosiria rubbished the move, claiming it was a malicious attempt to tie him to financial operations he had no part in.
“Why are you sending me a letter cancelling account rights for a system I never had access to, never logged into, and never used to make any payments after I was transferred to Customer Service?” Mosiria protested.
The embattled former official claimed that there is an orchestrated plot to frame him, boldly stating that his “goose is cooked” as political operatives allegedly scheme against him.
The latest clash is rooted in the fast-approaching 2027 General Election. Mosiria was fired by Governor Sakaja in October 2026, just days after he publicly declared his intention to unseat his boss in the upcoming Nairobi gubernatorial race.
Since his dismissal, Mosiria has maintained that his early political ambitions made him a target at City Hall.
Hitting back at alleged threats from Sakaja’s camp, Mosiria delivered a fiery political warning, suggesting that the incumbent governor’s political fate is already sealed.
“Eti huyo nitamsort? Wewe, God alikusort kitambo! 2027, Home express!” Mosiria declared in Sheng, implying that Sakaja would be sent home in the next election. He confidently added, “Nairobians want me to fix Nairobi as their governor.”
Mosiria, who previously served in the Health and Environment dockets before being moved to Customer Service, maintains that his track record makes him the best candidate to clean up the city.
The intensifying war of words reveals how City Hall is increasingly becoming a battleground for political survival as the 2027 realignments take shape.
Do you think Geoffrey Mosiria’s early campaign strategy will successfully propel him to the Nairobi governor’s seat in 2027, or will his fallout with Sakaja derail his ambitions? Share your views in the comments section below.
