KPLC Announces Planned Power Outages In Runda Tassia Nandi And Nyeri Tomorrow

Kenya Power has issued a public notice detailing scheduled power maintenance and interruptions across selected areas in Kenya on Thursday, 29 October 2026. The announcement, released via the official @KenyaPower_Care account, aims to inform customers in advance so they can make necessary arrangements.

In Nairobi, two major zones will be affected. Part of Runda will experience a full-day outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Areas impacted include Ruaka Road, UNEP, Runda Road, Eaton Place, Whispers Avenue, UN Crescent, and surrounding customers.

A longer interruption is planned for Tassia, running from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will cover the whole of Kwa Ndege, Makuti, and Riverbank Tassia, as well as Amani Court, Muindi Mweusi Shopping Market Tassia, Tassia Catholic, Tassia High Street, Melissa Academy, areas behind Naivas Shopping Market, Nyayo Gate B, Tassia Hill, Tassia Community Church, and adjacent premises.

Outside Nairobi, maintenance will take place in parts of Nandi County. Kapkemich and Kapkures, together with neighbouring customers, will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Nyeri County, Mt. Kenya Estate and surrounding localities will also face an outage between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Affected locations include Mt. Kenya Estate itself, parts of Milimani, S. Weru, G. Githanga, J.B. Ndungu, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power advises residents and businesses in the listed areas to plan accordingly. Essential equipment should be powered down safely before the interruption begins, and alternative power sources prepared where possible. Customers requiring further clarification can contact Kenya Power Care through the official channels listed on the notice.

The scheduled works form part of routine network maintenance intended to improve long-term reliability of electricity supply in the affected regions.
