There Are more Important Issues Affecting Women In The Country That Deserve Attention—Bongo

According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Tuesday, October 27,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has taken a swipe at media personality Serwaa Amihere over advice concerning young women’s lifestyle choices, insisting that greater attention should be given to issues that affect their personal and professional development.

In a Facebook post, Bongo Ideas argued that young women should have the freedom to decide what they buy and how they choose to live, rather than being subjected to expectations surrounding fashion, beauty products and expensive accessories.

He maintained that a woman’s worth should not be determined by her appearance or the cost of the items she possesses, stressing that education, competence and good character are more important measures of personal development.

Addressing the issue of employment, the commentator argued that employers should focus on applicants’ qualifications, curriculum vitae (CV), intelligence and ability to perform their duties rather than their makeup or handbags.

According to him, expensive fashion items do not automatically translate into intelligence, competence or success, adding that young women should be encouraged to build their capabilities instead of feeling pressured to meet particular lifestyle standards.

Bongo Ideas also turned attention to relationships, suggesting that discussions about young women’s choices would be more meaningful if they included the importance of respecting marriages and avoiding relationships with married men.

He argued that encouraging young women to concentrate on their ambitions, education and financial independence would offer greater value than placing excessive emphasis on their outward appearance.
