Mosiria Speaks After Sonko Tried To Reconcile Him With Sakaja, Reveals Why He Rejected The Plan
Nairobi governor aspirant Mosiria has finally broken his silence a day after a live broadcast with former Governor Mike Sonko left him in an awkward spot. He has rejected the attempt to reconcile him with his political opponents.
The session was watched by thousands of people online. Mosiria says it was meant to be an endorsement of his candidature. He calls Sonko his mentor friend and brother.
He explains that he could not object while the cameras were rolling. Doing so would have harmed his relationship with Sonko and hurt his political standing.
Mosiria says he is running for the Nairobi governor seat and cannot make peace with people competing for the same position. He believes some of them have frustrated his efforts for the past three years.
He recalled that former President Uhuru Kenyatta had close ties with both Peter Kenneth and then Governor Evans Kidero. Yet each man pursued his own agenda. In his words politics is not a church.
His supporters are disappointed and he says he owes them an explanation. He pointed to serious problems facing the city including recurring building collapses that have claimed innocent lives. He insists these issues need accountability and urgent solutions rather than political compromises.
Mosiria has asked Sonko to choose a side and openly back him if he truly believes he can fix Nairobi. He says he will still seek his counsel because he values his experience.
He says he is not seeking political friendships at the expense of the people. He wants the chance to serve them. Nairobi he says deserves a leader who will stand firm and put its people first.
His mission remains unchanged and it is very simple. Fix Nairobi.
