ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has promised to intervene in the feud between EFF leader Julius Malema and North West mining tycoon Solomon “MySol” Madibela, pledging to contact Malema to understand the dispute and seek an amicable resolution.

Mbalula defended Madibela as a “solid entrepreneur” after Malema launched a personal attack on the businessman at a rally at Letlhabile Stadium, North West on Saturday.

“MySol is a solid SA entrepreneur. Whatever the fight is about I will reach out to Julius to understand. Let’s settle this amicably,” Mbalula wrote on X.

Malema accused the businessman of benefiting at the expense of local communities.

“These mines will service our people… These mines will not service MySol. MySol se foot. I will repeat, MySol se foot. You must tell him that he’s a small boy to me,” Malema said.

He also challenged the businessman, declaring: “I am not scared of boys who think they have got money… He must go around and ask about me… I’ll put you in your place.”

The latest attack follows comments Madibela made on the Podcast and Chill network, where he alleged that a political party leader disliked him after he declined an invitation to attend the party’s gala dinner.

“I don’t want to help any political party,” he said, maintaining that he was not affiliated with any political organisation.

Madibela further alleged that political figures or their associates had approached his clients, asking them to terminate their contracts with him.

The dispute intensified after screenshots of WhatsApp statuses allegedly posted by Madibela circulated on social media.

The posts reportedly called Malema a “small boy” and mocked his appearance.

Madibela has maintained that he is politically unaffiliated, although he attended the ANC’s January 8 celebrations in Madibeng, North West, this year.
