Lagos will host the 2026 African Brands Congress, bringing together business executives, marketing professionals, technology experts and policymakers to examine how artificial intelligence can reshape branding, marketing and consumer engagement across Africa.
The congress is scheduled for 30 November at the Ballroom of Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island. Its theme is ‘The Future of Brands in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,’ the organiser said in a statement on Monday.
The event comes as businesses increasingly explore AI tools to analyse consumer behaviour, personalise marketing campaigns, automate customer service and improve content production, while facing concerns over data privacy, intellectual property and consumer trust.
According to the organisers, the congress will examine how African brands can adopt AI to strengthen their competitiveness without losing the cultural identity and authenticity that distinguish them in local and international markets.
The programme will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, masterclasses, exhibitions and networking opportunities, with discussions covering AI-powered consumer insights, generative AI and content creation, automation, digital trust, intellectual property and brand governance.
Participants are also expected to examine how predictive analytics and machine learning can help businesses understand consumer preferences and anticipate market demand, alongside the implications of automated customer service for customer relationships and brand loyalty.
The congress will address the policies, skills, infrastructure and organisational changes required for businesses to adopt AI responsibly and sustainably.
The organisers expect participation from companies and professionals across fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications, technology, fashion, beauty, media, entertainment, agriculture, retail, hospitality, tourism, automotive, education and the public sector.
The gathering is also intended to connect brand owners, advertising and communications agencies, technology providers, investors and policymakers to encourage partnerships and investment across Africa’s brand economy.
It will feature exhibitions where organisations can showcase innovations, alongside awards recognising African brands and industry innovators.
The organisers expect the congress to produce a communiqué outlining recommendations on AI adoption, ethical practices and policy considerations for brands operating in African markets. Other anticipated outcomes include new business partnerships, investment discussions and stronger professional networks.
The African Brands Congress is an annual platform focused on strengthening the competitiveness of African brands, promoting home-grown business excellence and connecting stakeholders across the continent’s brand economy.
The 2026 edition will examine how businesses can use artificial intelligence to compete globally while preserving the identity, credibility and consumer trust needed to build lasting brands.
