Just Days After Being Discharged From The Hospital, ODM Leader Makes This Bold Demand

Oburu Oginga has expressed deep sorrow following the collapse of an 18-storey building in Kamkunji, Nairobi, calling for a thorough investigation into the tragedy and strict action against those responsible.

In his statement, Oburu described the disaster as a painful reminder of the dangers of poor regulation, corruption and greed in the construction sector. He said the loss of lives was unacceptable and urged authorities to ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law.

Oburu also sent his condolences to families who lost their loved ones in the tragedy. He praised rescue teams from different government agencies for their continued efforts to search for survivors and assist those affected by the incident.

He said the government must take urgent steps to prevent similar disasters in the future. According to Oburu, tenants should always confirm that buildings have passed the required safety inspections and received approval for occupation before moving in.

He warned that people should not be forced to risk their lives because developers fail to follow construction rules.

Oburu further criticised developers and contractors who use poor materials or ignore safety standards to increase their profits. He called on authorities to take firm action against those who put human lives in danger through careless construction practices.

He also demanded accountability from regulatory bodies responsible for inspecting buildings and enforcing construction standards.

Oburu insisted that a full investigation must be conducted and anyone found responsible should face legal consequences.

He said the tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for the country to strengthen building inspections and protect residents.

He stressed that human life must always come before money and personal interests.
