I paid for my own hotel, fuel, and food on Akufo-Addo’s 2016 campaign trail—Addai Nimoh
Former Flagbearer aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Addai Nimoh, has disclosed that in 2016 he funded his bills although he was on the campaign trail with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He says he paid for his own fuel and hotel bills and bought his own fuel when the then flagbearer toured the country.
The former legislator says it was until the final days of the campaign that he was considered to be provided with food.
“I am human, and I feel it when I’m treated unfairly. I paid for my fuel, my accommodation, and food. It took time before I was given food by the campaign. I felt the party was in opposition, so that was the least that I could do,” he said.
Speaking on why he did not get any role in the eight years the party was in power, he said he realised he would be sidelined and therefore decided to stay away because he adored his personal peace and would not compromise it.
“In 2017, I knew I wouldn’t be considered for anything under Akufo-Addo. If I hadn’t closed my mind to this, it may have affected me. Maybe that is what God has gifted me with. I cherish my personal peace than anything, so anything that will worry my personal peace has no place in my life,” he said.
