DStv Slashes Prices: 90 Channels for GH¢50 as MultiChoice Unveils New Packages

MultiChoice Ghana has announced a new pricing structure for its DStv subscription packages, promising more affordable access to television entertainment, sports and other premium content from November 5, 2026.

Customers interested in premium sports and entertainment content will have to pay GH¢570.

The changes, according to Okyere, form part of efforts to make the satellite television service more accessible to households amid concerns about subscription costs and the affordability of paid television services.

We’re making DStv more affordable, offering 90 channels for GH¢50, 123 for GH¢100, full football coverage for GH¢250, and premium sports and entertainment for GH¢570, effective 5th November, he stated.

For many households, the availability of lower-priced packages could provide an opportunity to continue enjoying television entertainment without committing to the higher subscription fees associated with premium offerings.

Football fans, who often prioritise access to major sporting competitions, will have the option of paying GH¢250 for full football coverage. The GH¢570 package will cater to viewers seeking premium sports and entertainment programming.

The announcement also comes amid broader discussions about the cost of pay television and the need for service providers to introduce flexible pricing arrangements that reflect customers’ financial circumstances.

MultiChoice Ghana’s latest move could reshape subscription choices, particularly among customers who have considered downgrading their packages or discontinuing their subscriptions because of cost.

The coming weeks will reveal whether the new pricing structure succeeds in attracting more viewers and strengthening customer loyalty.
