Bianca Ojukwu Shares Moments From Meeting With Japanese Ambassador Suzuki Hideo

According to a post shared on her official Instagram page, @biancaodumegwuojukwu, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, shared moments from her meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Suzuki Hideo, who paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.

The meeting took place on Monday, October 26, 2026, and focused on strengthening diplomatic relations and expanding cooperation between Nigeria and Japan.

Bianca highlighted that 2026 marks the 66th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. She also noted that the successful conclusion of the 10th Nigeria-Japan Special Partnership Forum in Abuja earlier this year marked another milestone in their bilateral relationship.

The discussions covered Japan’s ongoing development assistance to Nigeria through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Its support includes infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, education, technical training and human capital development.

Bianca also disclosed that 57 Japanese companies are operating in Nigeria, highlighting the economic links between the two countries. Discussions further addressed JICA’s support for Nigeria’s startup ecosystem through a $10 million startup hub project being developed in partnership with the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority.

The project is intended to strengthen Nigeria’s startup sector through institutional development and job creation.

Photographs shared by Bianca captured moments from the meeting, including her discussions with the Japanese ambassador and a presentation made during the visit.
