In a recent video shared on Symfoni TV on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his presence in Enugu State, comparing it with former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s visit to Anambra State when he was governor.

Obi made the remarks while discussing leadership and the relationship between the presidency and state governments ahead of the 2027 general election. He used his experience as a former governor to explain his position on presidential visits to states.

According to Obi, “He has never been to Enugu and slept there. When I was governor, Obasanjo slept in my state.” He made the statement while comparing Tinubu’s engagement with Enugu to Obasanjo’s visit to Anambra during his administration as governor.
