Andre Ayew donates undisclosed amount to Black Challenge ahead of World Cup
Former Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has donated an undisclosed amount of money to Ghana’s national amputee football team, the Black Challenge, to support its preparations for the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico.
The donation was made on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the University of Ghana Ajax Park, Legon, as the team prepares for the tournament scheduled for November 13 to 22 in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico.
Ayew said he could not disclose the amount to the media but had informed the team’s captain of the sum donated.
”I will tell the captain himself how much it is and the staff also but not the media ”
The financial support is expected to contribute to the team’s preparations as Ghana seeks to compete for the world title alongside 23 other national teams.
Ghana has been drawn in Group D, where it will face Angola, Colombia and Iraq in the tournament organised under the World Amputee Football Federation.
The competition will bring together 24 national teams to battle for the championship.
Ayew’s gesture highlights the role of sports personalities in supporting athletes with disabilities and promoting inclusive sports development in Ghana.
The Black Challenge will be hoping to make a strong impression at the tournament as it represents the country on the international stage.
