The Co-Founder of Elevate Africa, Olori Atuwatsé III, has called on African leaders to prioritise homegrown solutions and take ownership of the continent’s development.

She said Africa had the talent, resources and resilience to address its challenges but needed stronger leadership, innovation and a change in how its people perceived and portrayed the continent.

She made the call in Accra yesterday at a press conference ahead of the Elevate Africa Convening 2026, which is expected to bring together leaders and innovators to discuss solutions to the continent’s development priorities.

The convening, on the theme, “Africa: Defining Our Future”, is scheduled for October 28 and 29, 2026.

Olori Atuwatsé III said the initiative would focus on showcasing existing African solutions, bringing leaders together to exchange ideas and developing talent through its fellowship programme. Read More.
