Why Only Target Black Africans?Duduzane Zuma Exposes Dirty Secrets About Illegal Europeans in SA

uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party First Deputy President Duduzane Zuma has challenged what he views as selective outrage surrounding anti-illegal immigration campaigns in South Africa, questioning why public scrutiny and grassroots enforcement focus predominantly on poor African and Asian migrants while undocumented European nationals allegedly escape similar accountability.

Addressing supporters at a community hall in uMlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, as part of the MK party’s campaign trail ahead of the 4 November local government elections, Zuma argued that statutory immigration laws must be applied with complete equality regardless of race, national origin, or economic status. He expressed concern over the framing of immigration enforcement, cautioning that focusing civil actions exclusively on non-South African Africans effectively reduces complex border administration to black-on-black conflict and localized xenophobia.

Zuma pointedly questioned why civil movements, business inspectors, and community groups rarely target or investigate undocumented European nationals residing or operating businesses across South Africa. He asserted that foreign nationals living or working within the country without proper statutory documentation exist across all racial and economic demographics, asserting that true legal enforcement requires a uniform, blanket approach across all communities rather than selective, racially targeted campaigns.

While acknowledging public frustration over high unemployment, pressure on municipal infrastructure, and border security failures, Zuma urged community members and civic organizations to avoid taking the law into their own hands or engaging in mob violence and property destruction. He stressed that targeting vulnerable informal traders in townships while ignoring non-compliant individuals in affluent or foreign-dominated commercial sectors compromises the moral integrity of immigration enforcement.

The politician’s remarks come amidst heightened security operations and military deployments across KwaZulu-Natal following escalating public protests, business shutdowns, and vigilante-style inspections led by civic groups targeting foreign-operated establishments. Zuma maintained that while border security and statutory compliance must be strictly upheld by government authorities to protect national sovereignty, South Africans must reject selective xenophobia and demand that the Department of Home Affairs and law enforcement agencies enforce immigration laws fairly, consistently, and without prejudice across the board.
