Wavinya Ndeti Breaks Silence After Kalonzo’s Meeting With Gachagua

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has spoken out following a meeting between Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County.

The meeting brought together several political leaders for discussions on Kenya’s future, political cooperation and possible alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a post on her official X account, Wavinya said she accompanied Kalonzo, whom she described as her party leader, during the visit to Gachagua, who leads the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

She said the leaders held candid and constructive discussions on the country’s future and the need for political cooperation as they prepare for the next general election.

“We held candid and constructive discussions on the future of our country, the need for political cooperation, and the shared pursuit of change as we prepare for the 2027 General Elections,” Wavinya stated.

The governor also thanked Gachagua for welcoming the delegation to his Wamunyoro residence, referring to him by the name Macuzo.

“Thank you, Macuzo, for the warm reception,” she added.

Wavinya concluded her message with a call for the leaders to work together, using a Kiswahili phrase that pointed to their shared political journey.

“Lazima tutembee hii safari ya kukomboa Kenya pamoja!” she said, adding the hashtag #CousinsUnited.

The meeting comes as opposition leaders continue consultations on possible cooperation and a common political strategy ahead of the 2027 polls.

Gachagua recently hosted Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and leaders associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, while Kalonzo has also been involved in efforts to bring opposition parties together.
