Today’s Headline:Nigerians are suffering-Ayodele blast Tinubu Govt;Nigeria temporarily free of Ebola
Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has knocked the Federal Government over the level of hardship in Nigeria.
In a video statement circulating on Sunday, Ayodele said everything is not going well under the current government and that Nigerians are in serious pain.
“Everything is not going well in Nigeria under this government. Nigerians are in serious pain,” he said.
He lamented rising school fees, high market prices, persistent insecurity and hardship.
Nigeria is temporarily free of Ebola patients following the evacuation of the country’s only confirmed case to Switzerland for further medical care.
According to the coordinating minister of health and social welfare, Ali Pate, the patient departed Abuja with his approval, accompanied by her spouse, who has remained asymptomatic.
In a post via X, Pate said the patient’s clinical condition had improved significantly before the evacuation, adding that she was stable, conscious and able to communicate, while her laboratory test results were approaching baseline levels.
However, the minister cautioned that the improvement did not necessarily mean the patient was no longer infectious, stressing that strict public health protocols remained in place.
Professor Pat Utomi has criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the distribution of luxury sport utility vehicles (SUVs) to selected party youth leaders, questioning the government’s spending priorities amid concerns over the salaries of Nigerian soldiers and the country’s economic challenges.
Utomi, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), condemned the reported distribution of brand-new 2026 Toyota Prado SUVs, arguing that the money spent on the vehicles could have been channelled into critical sectors such as healthcare.
In a post on X on Sunday, the professor expressed concern that an APC youth leader could showcase expensive vehicles at a time Nigerians had been told that government funds were limited.
He wrote: “Nigerian soldiers are being paid peanuts as salaries, yet an APC youth leader is flaunting SUVs worth billions of naira.
Two prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) figures and about 6,000 party members in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The defectors include former three-term senator Simeon Sule Ajibola and the immediate past chairman of the APC Kwara South Elders Forum, Chief James Bamisaye Ayeni.
According to reports, the defectors are drawn from all 10 wards in Ekiti Local Government Area.
Ayeni said the decision to leave the APC followed consultations among members, citing concerns over marginalisation, neglect, lack of development and the need for internal democracy.
