Pitso Mosimane includes Vaal trio in Bafana Bafana’s Preliminary Squad

SEDIBENG.- Pitso Mosimane has named the Vaal triple ‘M’, Thapelo Maseko, Relebohile Mofokeng and Tshepang Moremi, in his preliminary Bafana Bafana squad ahead of their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on November 13.

Bafana Bafana currently top Group D with six points from two matches following wins against Guinea and Eritrea. Kenya sits third in the group with one point from two games. This upcoming fixture promises to be a thrilling encounter as Mosimane and his squad go up against former Bafana Bafana striker Benni McCarthy, who coaches the Kenya national football team.

The Vaal trio are familiar faces in the national setup, having previously starred under Hugo Broos before earning the continued trust of Mosimane. Mofokeng and Maseko are currently enjoying impressive spells with their respective European clubs, while Moremi continues to thrive at Orlando Pirates.

The three players were key members of the historic Bafana Bafana side that reached the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup 2026, helping the country return to the global tournament after a sixteen-year absence.

Broos originally built his young team around these talented youngsters, and Mosimane is now following a similar approach by maintaining faith in the core group of players who drove Bafana Bafana’s recent success.
