Marcelo Allende’s Mamelodi Sundowns Future in Doubt as Contract Expiry Approaches

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende could be facing an uncertain future at Chloorkop, with reports suggesting that his contract situation may become a major talking point following the club’s exit from the CAF Champions League.

The Chilean midfielder has been an important part of Sundowns’ squad, contributing to the team’s work in midfield as the Pretoria-based club competes in domestic and continental competitions. His technical ability, passing and movement have made him a valuable option in the middle of the park.

However, with his contract reportedly due to expire at the end of the season, questions are emerging about whether the two parties will agree to extend their relationship or prepare for a possible separation.

Sundowns’ disappointing Champions League campaign has added to the discussions surrounding the club’s future plans. The continental competition remains an important target for the South African giants, and their elimination is likely to prompt a review of different aspects of the team ahead of upcoming challenges.

Whether Allende remains part of those plans could depend on several factors, including contract negotiations, the club’s long-term strategy and the player’s own career ambitions.

A potential departure would be a significant development for Sundowns, particularly if the club loses an experienced midfielder without securing an extension. It could also create an opportunity for other players to compete for a more prominent role in the team.

Nevertheless, speculation about Allende’s future should not be mistaken for a confirmed transfer decision. No official announcement confirming his departure or the outcome of contract negotiations has been provided in the information available.

For now, Sundowns supporters will be watching closely for updates as the season progresses and the midfielder’s contractual situation attracts further attention.
