Latest Opinion Poll Reveals Who Leads the Kisumu Senatorial Race

The race for Kisumu senate seat is gaining momentum as the next general election fast approaches. Some of the front runners are Samuel Odoro, Stephen Ochieng Nyandiare, Willis Raburu, and Fredrick Odumo Nyinguro.

According to the latest opinion poll that was released by Swiss Poll International on Monday, October 26, 2026, Samuel Odoro is leading the race with 36.7% (1,481 votes).

Stephen Ochieng Nyandiare follows in second place with 25.1% representing 1,023 votes. Media personality Willis Raburu secures third place with 14.3% representing 576 votes, closely followed by Fredrick Odumo Nyinguro in fourth place with 13.6% representing 548 votes. Gilbert Amollo commands 3.5% representing 140 votes, while other candidates account for 6.8% representing 281 votes. The poll sampled 4,039 respondents with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of +/-3%.

The current Kisumu senator Tom Ojienda is eying the gubernatorial seat and therefore he leaves the senate seat open for new candidates. This vacancy has set the stage for an intense political battle as the race heads to the homestretch.
