Kwa Ngendu Housing Project Hits 75% Completion as Ruto Announces December 2026 Move-In Date

President William Ruto has announced significant progress on the Kwa Ngendu Affordable Housing Project in Kitui Town Constituency, with the development now 75 per cent complete and expected to be ready for occupation in December 2026.

The project, which represents an investment of KSh417.3 million, is expected to deliver 166 housing units as part of the government’s affordable housing programme.

During an inspection of the construction site, President Ruto assessed the progress of the development, which is steadily moving towards completion. The latest update provides an indication of the project’s implementation timeline and the government’s continued focus on expanding access to affordable housing across the country.

With construction already at 75 per cent, the remaining work will be critical in ensuring that the units are completed within the announced schedule. The December 2026 occupation date is expected to give prospective residents an indication of when they could begin moving into their new homes.
