Suspect Accused of Killing Tahidi High Actress Arrested While Operating a Club in Tanzania

The main suspect in the murder of former Tahidi High actress Sheila ‘Wegesha’ Odoyo has been arrested in Tanzania.

According to NTV Kenya, the suspect was apprehended in Tanzania where he was reportedly operating a club after fleeing Kenya.

“Sheila ‘Wegesha’ Odoyo murder suspect arrested in Tanzania, where he was reportedly operating a club,” NTV Kenya posted on X.

The arrest ends months of manhunt for the suspect who has been on the run since the gruesome murder of the popular actress in 2024.

Sheila Odoyo, popularly known by her acting name Wegesha, was found murdered in her house in Nairobi, in a case that shocked the entertainment industry.

The suspect, who was her estranged partner, allegedly went into hiding shortly after the incident and is believed to have crossed the border into Tanzania to evade arrest.

Police say the suspect had established a business and was operating a club in Tanzania before intelligence led to his arrest.

He is expected to be extradited to Kenya to face murder charges.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is yet to issue an official statement on the arrest, but the development brings hope for justice for Sheila’s family and the acting fraternity who have been calling for his apprehension.

Investigations into the murder are ongoing.
