In April of that year, he made history as the first African artist to headline a solo concert at the iconic stadium.
Reflecting on the milestone in a recent interview, Burna Boy described it as a pivotal point in his career: “It was the most life-changing moment of my life.”
Looking ahead, the ‘Last Last’ hitmaker is set to return to Stade de France on October 25, 2026, as the headliner for the NFL halftime show.
He will perform during the league’s first-ever game in France, featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints. When asked about his expectations for the event, Burna Boy expressed excitement, recalling the electrifying atmosphere of his previous performance: “If it is anything like my shows, like the last time I was here? Then, it would be amazing.”
His upcoming performance follows closely after singer Ayra Starr made history as the first artist to headline an NFL halftime show.
Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, first gained widespread attention with ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013). Since then, he has established himself as one of Africa’s most prominent music exports, releasing acclaimed albums such as ‘On a Spaceship’ (2015), ‘Outside’ (2018), ‘African Giant’ (2019), ‘Twice As Tall’ (2020), ‘Love, Damini’ (2022), ‘I Told Them’ (2023), and ‘No Sign of Weakness’ (2025).
He currently holds the record for the most Grammy nominations by a Nigerian artist, with 13, and won Best Global Music Album in 2021 for ‘Twice As Tall’.
