Aden Duale Names The Only Candidate He Supports to Be President Ruto Running Mate in 2027 Elections

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has thrown his support behind Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, declaring him the best choice to remain President William Ruto’s running mate in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking on Sunday, October 25, Duale praised Kindiki’s intelligence, academic credentials and conduct, placing him above previous deputy presidents Kalonzo Musyoka and Rigathi Gachagua.

“Kenya has the best deputy president ever. In terms of a DP in the context of Kalonzo, Riggy G, Prof. Kindiki is one of the most decent, learned, and intelligent holders of that office,” Duale said.

His remarks come amid growing debate over the possibility of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru replacing Kindiki on Ruto’s presidential ticket. Waiguru has expressed interest in the position, citing the need for unity within the Mt Kenya region.

However, Duale dismissed arguments favouring Kindiki’s replacement by another regional leader, insisting that his suitability should be judged on merit rather than his county of origin.

He also challenged those limiting Kindiki’s political ambitions to Tharaka-Nithi, suggesting the deputy president has the potential to become Kenya’s future president.
